Now that you’ve developed a SCiO Model, it’s time to build your first mobile app. This section explains how to create you own Android app for SCiO using the SCiO Development Toolkit and the Mobile SDK, including code examples.

This SDK enables you to create apps which interact with your SCiO Sensor and the Models you previously built and tested in SCiO Lab/SCiO Lab Mobile. Apps built with the SDK can sync with SCiO, calibrate, initiate sample material scans and retrieve the analysis from the SCiO Cloud.
The SCiO Development Toolkit (DevKit)

The DevKit is comprised of three elements.

  • SCiO Sensor + accessories
  • SCiO Lab environments (SCiO Lab and SCiO Lab Mobile)
  • SCiO Mobile SDK

The DevKit ships with two sample data collections already loaded into SCiO Lab. These collections are model building ready and can be published for use with this Mobile SDK to get started. Of course, you’ll probably want to use your own data collections for your eventual real SCiO applications, but for learning how to work with the SDK and getting started, these sample data collections and models will work just fine.
