That is ok I still haven’t received mine, I want to see the dimensions before I design something. I was also thinking of a doctor who style device. haha

I’m thinking of making a black box, once I get mine and trying that out.

Try a black background, usually for the handheld versions of this spectrometer the light is in a clamp like device so no interference can get in. You may even try putting it in a box of some kind.

Yes the update was needed for everyone I think. I hope their target is achievable.

Let us know what commons you will be testing, I will be doing the same once I get my tester. I think a way to tell different mushrooms can be done but I need to see the data first. I was thinking we could build an app that says ok to eat (green) and do not eat (red). Maybe even have like info about the mushroom identified like a book.

That paper was about coffee quality I didn’t see that they tried to find out what location it came from. You might be able to find a contaminate or something that is specific for a region I think it will be very difficult.

I had the same idea it would be really good. I have some ideas for an app if you want to discuss more. I think SCIO would have to hook up with fantastic fungi group to get the poisonous mushrooms.

I think geographic identification is done genetically. I don’t think the SCIO would be able to test for geographic identification because it is NIR. I could be wrong.
