As a rule of thumb, you should scan as many samples as possible, with a minimum of at least 40 unique samples, to prove feasibility. However, the DevKit will allow you to analyze your collection even with just two unique samples (one per group) if you want to test for classification, and a few samples for estimation (assuming their numerical attribute value is different enough to create a model).

Note: using only two samples for modelling is not recommended, we made it possible so that as a first time user it would be easier to experience an initial development flow using SCiO Lab, but it should not be considered best (or even good) practice.
