    Hi All

Maize silage is a relatively new concept in Pakistan. A lot of people are selling substandard silage causing losses to the dairy farmers.

The idea is to use SCIO and create a model where we can accurately predict the Dry Matter/Moisture of the Maize Silage. Once, there are enough scans and raw data, the model can be used to predict Protein Levels, Acid Detergent Fibre and Ash etc.

This model can then be replicated on to other crops i.e. Alfalfa, Wheat Straw and Grass etc.

    Look forward to your feedback/comments.

    Hi Kes,

Your suggestion is of great interest to us and for other SCiO users.

SCiO has shown promise in estimating moisture levels as well as protein content and other nutritional values of various vegetables, grains and plants.

    Keep us posted!

Another major challenge the Maize(Corn) industry faces is the Aflatoxin contamination of the kernels and detecting them in the field. Although some level RDK(Rapid Detection Kits) are available, Scio may be a handy tool to detect on the field to separate contaminated grains from Non contaminated ones.
