Any platforms/hardware other than mobile phones?

Hello.

 

We want to use Scio in an application where we don’t have a human with a cell phone being present all the time to check the response. Basically we want the scio to communicate with the cloud and return back 1- plastic, 2 – paper and see if we can pass it on to a microcontroller to make further decisions. So I was wondering if the mobile phone essentially just transfers the information from the Scio to the cloud or if it could be accomplished using like a GPRS wireless radio? Could anything other than the mobile phone be used to receive the information back so that the whole process could be automated?

Currently SCiO only works via the phone and the SCiO phone app.
