Can SCiO work outdoors?

 
SCiO uses ambient sensing in order to compensate for external ambient light, and scanning will be affected in a full-sun outdoor environment unless the sample is amply shaded. To reduce external ambient light, it is recommended that you use the SCiO Shade accessory when scanning outdoors.

SCiO is also sensitive to NIR noise (such as strong halogen lights, security cameras with LEDs in SCIO’s spectral range) in indoor environments. We are currently working on algorithmic improvements to make SCiO less sensitive to this type of interference.
